The Final Destination in North

Yes, beyond the walls of HinduKush and surrounded within the great wall of Himalayas and Karakoram is your final destination, if you are adventurous by nature.

Your way to destination is quite challenging, you either have to travel by road, a journey of 25-30 hours, or you can just fly off above the mountains to reach this magical place which is known as SKARDU.

Today I am not writing to describe the beautiful landscapes this place but the goal is to highlight the basic problems which a tourist or locals have to face to reach Skardu. The people usually travel by air to avoid the difficulties which is faced while travelling by road. But to our dismay, PIA never fails us.

People usually pay heavy fares, especially in summers, to travel by the only airline that fly to Skardu. Despite this, you can be put back even after the issuance of boarding passes or hours of delay. The usual excuses are weather conditions, even if it is some unnecessary negligences of PIA authorities.

The main point is to acknowledge that flying on this route not some kind of upper class choices but it is the basic necessity of poor people of the region. This is the only safe and easy access to the rest of country. The other options of connectivities are often under security threats by the terrorist. That's why, the people are forced to travel by air yet the authorities are not willing either to eliminate the hindrances on the grounds or the financial burdens being put on by PIA.

The government should look upon this dilemma with serious intentions to facilitate the people.
